Ziad Ali is an entrepreneur and an advocate for developing the MENA Legal landscape and promoting the rule of law. He earned his LL.B from Ain Shams University’s Faculty of Law, English Section, class of 2015. As a student, he interned and worked for many reputable legal institutions between 2012 and 2015 including Thebes Consultancy, the Arab Penal Reform Organization, and the Arab Organization for Human Rights, developing his fascination with the rule of law and reviving his life-long passion for it.

Before graduating, in 2014, he founded the first English-language law-focused magazine in Egypt and the Middle East dubbed the LAW Magazine. The magazine was founded on the contributions of all spectrums of the legal field. In 2015, Ziad expanded The Law Magazine into the fully functional THE LAW that promotes the sustainable development of the legal industry and profession through events, seminars, consulting, conferences, and publishing.

Nevertheless, Ziad thrived to a rounded look at the legal market from all corners. He worked as an attorney for Ghamry & partners Law firm in 2016, served as Marketing Vice President for NILS International in 2018, and became a part of Shalakny Law Office’s Marketing team from 2019 to 2020.

Ziad specialises in business development, marketing, and digital solutions focused on the legal industry. He also serves as the chief executive officer of BD Partner, the first and sole business development agency in the MENA region that works exclusively with law firms as of 2020. BD Partner has a distinguished list of MENA law firms in its portfolio.

In 2022, Ziad co-founded another legal profession-focused service provider, Talent Partner (TPr). TPr is a recruitment agency that is specialised in staffing for law firms and legal entities.

Ziad was awarded the Federation of African Law Students (FALAS) legal achievement award for contributing to the MENA and African legal development in 2021. He also gratuitously counselled the Egyptian Ministry of Justice for its digitisation of the justice system efforts, rounding and leading community efforts and voice before the ministry. He is currently studying LL.M in International and Comparative Law at the American University in Cairo’s Global Affairs and Public Policy School. Ziad is also an awardee of the Youssef Jameel Public Leadership fellowship at the AUC.
